SA Game Industry Awards
The South Australian Game Industry Awards is a night dedicated to celebrating the talented individuals and studios that call South Australia home.
The South Australian Game Industry Awards will take place on February 7th 2026 and will span 1 game award, 1 studio award and 5 personal awards. The awards will then be judged by a group of industry leaders and community advocates who are not SAGA committee members.
2025 Game of the Year Award
Awarded to the South Australian game that best shows it raises the bar in several categories and has shown success in the market. Judgement will happen on the quality of game design/art/sound/music/mechanical cohesion and will aim to factor multiple of these categories into the selection.
Most Impactful Studio Award
A studio who gives back to the community, whether by teaching the next generation, donating their time and resources to community endeavors or anything that goes above and beyond business as usual.
Individual Awards

Awarded to an individual who stands out around their peers to bring community and industry together, giving their time and expertise to make South Australia a better place to make games in.

The Rising Star award is presented to an individual new in their games career (under 5 years experience) who has shown great promise in being a community advocate and voice for their peers around them. *This may be a student or early career nomination.

A person who show their commitment to the excellence of their craft, rising above what is expected of them and showing their passion proudly and continuously. Freelancers, solo devs and permanent employees are all eligible for this award.

Someone who has been a treasure to the industry in South Australia who has made an impact over a long term career of 10+ years. Improving studio culture and industry culture in their endeavors through out their career. This person has shown time and time again why they should be celebrated for upholding good values and continues to make the industry a better place to be in.

Awarded to an individual who works tirelessly to promote those around, who believes that they will succeed if others are succeeding around them. This person will have an active involvement in local South Australian content and promotion taking it upon themselves to be the champion of others.
FAQ

For individual nominees you just have to reside within South Australia to be eligible for a nomination.
For a studio or game, the contributors to that teams must have at least 50% of the people who works on the game or work in the studio reside in South Australia

After the nomination period has passed we will work with people with in the industry who can be impartial in judgement.
Each award will have judges who are appropriate for the content of that award.
SAGA board members are ineligible for being selected to vote on awards to keep from any bias entering the judging panels. Not that we think our board members would let this influence them, but we want to be as appropriate as possible here.
