SA Video Game Development (VGD) Rebate

Offers a 10% rebate on eligible game development spend in SA, encouraging studios to establish and grow locally.

Eligibility: Australian citizens or permanent residents; independent studios or individuals; project budget up to around $500,000.

EG Fund Guidelines

Games Production Fund
by Screen Australia

Provides up to $100,000 for independent Australian studios to take their games to a key milestone (demo, vertical slice, or release).


Eligibility: Australian independent developers; game must be original IP; project budget up to around $500,000.

GP Fund Guidelines

Digital Games Tax Offset (DGTO)

A 30% federal tax rebate on eligible Australian game development expenditure — helping studios scale or invest in local production.


Eligibility: Minimum qualifying expenditure $500,000 in Australia; projects must not include gambling; certification required from the Minister for the Arts.

DGTO Guidelines

Export Market Development Grant (EMDG)

Helps Australian businesses promote their products or services to overseas markets by reimbursing export marketing and promotional costs.

Eligibility: Australian businesses with annual turnover under $20 million; Must be promoting products, intellectual property, or know-how made primarily in Australia; Funding is provided in tiers, depending on export experience and activities
